Calling in the talents of San Diego’s most sought-after chefs and brewers, in addition to the iconic Irish dancers, bagpipers, and multitude of revelers that define the holiday, St. Patrick’s Day in San Diego is celebrated across the city. The classic option is the downtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade; hosted by the Irish Congress of Southern California, the parade boasts over a hundred entries each year, plus food and craft booths, bands playing on two stages, a Kids Zone, and a Celtic village full of cultural specialties. This is by far your best choice for a day of fun for all ages, and there’s plenty of places within Balboa Park to take a break from the excitement before heading back to the hotel.
