48 Hours in Paradise: Planning a Weekend in San Diego
A vacation can be a wonderful thing. Taking a break from reality, responsibilities and stress is a real recharge. Still, it can often be hard to find the time to really commit to making it happen. But there are no rules regarding how long a getaway needs to be. Even a 48-hour escape can do wonders for the soul. So even if all you have is a weekend in San Diego, we’re here to help you make sure it’s amazing.

First — naturally! — you’ll want to check into Pacific Terrace Hotel. After you put your bags down (and check out the ocean view from your private balcony), it’s time to grab a bite to eat. Firehouse American Eatery & Lounge is just a quick stroll down the beach, and offers an incredible seafood menu. Then, grab a nightcap at PB Shore Club’s rooftop deck, or (if you’re feeling adventurous) check out the tiki vibe at The Grass Skirt.
Saturday Morning

There’s no better day for adventure than Saturday. So after grabbing some of the city’s best breakfast at Kono’s Café, why not sign up for a wave-riding lesson at San Diego Surf School? They offer instruction for surfers of every skill level, as well as couples’ lessons. If you’re not the surfing type, then Crystal Pier offers public fishing access. The Pacific Beach boardwalk is also a sunny stroll by great shopping, stunning ocean views and other attractions. Then, grab lunch overlooking the water at Oscar’s Mexican Seafood.
Saturday Evening

There’s truly no end to the fantastic ways you can spend a Saturday evening here. The adrenaline-pumping experience at Bad Axe Throwing will have you hitting bullseyes like a pro. Or, you could head to local artisan fair Pangaea Outpost, and peruse the wares of more than 70 local crafters and makers. From there, taking a relaxing dinner cruise while you watch the sun set over cocktails may be just what the doctor ordered. Then before you turn in, call our front desk to arrange for some calming in-room massage therapy.
Sunday Morning

Sunday mornings in San Diego mean just one thing for many locals: brunch! Good thing our friends at Duck Dive offer one of the best in the city. Tuck into a plate full of Chilaquiles con Salsa Verde, Chorizo Potato Hash or Candied Walnut French Toast. After that, it’s time to hit the beach. As a guest at Pacific Terrace, you’re only ever moments away. Whether you want to paddleboard, kayak, or just soak up the sun, you can’t go wrong. Cap it off with one of San Diego’s best burgers at Rocky’s Crown Pub for lunch.
